I married Katie Grace Helton in 2007. We have four kids and two dogs—Chewie and Solo. I love dating my wife, spending time with my kids, reading, making strong coffee, and connecting with childhood friends who are spread out all over the world serving the Lord. I have served in ministry in some capacity since 1998 and am extremely grateful to be the pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church! I am a graduate New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary as well as Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
My dad grew up in a family that feared God and were very poor. My dad was the third of eight children. When my dad was about ten, his family became one of the founding families of FBC Highland Heights, KY in the early 1950s. In other words, my dad was an integral part of a church plant at 10 years old. Building on these events, my parents instilled in me a love for Christ and His Church. Growing up in church, I was taught the Gospel of Christ by my parents as well as Sunday School teachers, ministers and others that my sins (and yours) were only paid for by accepting the saving and redemptive work of Jesus Christ of grace through faith in Him. I accepted the call for salvation and was baptized when I was twelve years old.
All are in need of Jesus as Savior for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus is the author and perfecter of the faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). He is Lord. He is sustainer and He is trustworthy. Jesus is the Lion of Judah and He is faithful. He is a redeemer and a friend. He is the greatest treasure. Jesus is the Great I Am. He is Bread of Life. He is the Chief Shepherd and the Door. He is the voice that calls out in the storm to assure. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) He leads to the Promised Land and never leaves or forsakes. God created. Man fell. Christ came as a perfect sacrifice. All redeemed with be with God in His presence forever in Heaven for eternity where sin and the effects of sin will be no more.

Hannah Lutz, Praise and Worship Leader
Hannah is beginning her 4th year at Pleasant View. Her primary joy in leading worship is being able to encourage others to fix their eyes on Christ, by simply authentically worshiping Him myself. The goal is always God as the focus, and what a privilege it is to serve in this way, decreasing as He increases..
She is a senior at Anderson University, majoring in Biochemistry. Her future goals include pursuing a career in pharmaceutical drug design research, and getting to use her knowledge of chemistry and the human body to help develop treatments and cures.

Sheryl has been Administrative Assistant at Pleasant View for a little over 3 years and has held this position at various churches in the Anderson area during the past 25 years. Sheryl has a daughter, Jennifer and her husband Kirt, and a son, Steven and his wife Lisa; 2 grandsons (Taylor and John) and 4 granddaughters (Caroline, Ashlyn, Reagan and Campbell).
